- It's 3 cups of flour.
- You need 1 of egg.
- You need 250 g of butter.
- It's 1 cup of sugar.
- Prepare 1 tablespoon of flavour(I use vanilla).
- It's 1 teaspoon of baking powder.
Butter Cookies instructions
- In a bowl, mix sugar and butter till soft and fluffy.
- Add egg and mix well.
- Add flavor.
- Sieve flour and mix with baking powder.
- Add the flour & baking powder mixture to the butter and egg mixture and knead.
- Use your cookie cutter and cut out the shape.
- Bake for 20mins and allow to cool before serving.
It had to be buttery, a little crumbly (like shortbread), and not too sweet. I think these are the Worlds Best Butter Cookie, courtesy of Chef Alice Medrich. I made the ice box version because it's so quick. Used colored sugar to make them pretty. I really need to find an easy to use cookie press because I'd love to make the spritz version.
