There are a few variations to make Ragi Dosa.
I am sharing two tasty and healthy recipes in this post and they are gluten-free as well.
Instant Ragi Dosa; Fermented Ragi Dosa made with Urad dal batter Ragi (Finger Millet) is a nutritious grain which is staple food in most of the South Indian states.
Ingredients of Ragi dosa
- Prepare 1 cup of ragi flour.
- It's 1 cup of fine semolina (rava).
- You need 1/2 cup of rice flour.
- It's 1/2 cup of curd.
- Prepare 1 tsp of salt.
- You need 1 tbs of ginger green chilli coriander leaves paste.
- It's 4 cup of water.
- Prepare As needed of Oil or ghee for roasting.
Ragi dosa step by step
- Take all the flours in a mixing bowl. Add curd, chilli ginger paste, salt. Mix well..
- Add 2 cup of water. Mix all ingredients together well. Cover and keep aside for half an hour..
- Add 1 more cup of water or as required to make the flowing consistency of batter..
- Heat the tava on low medium flame. Pour the dosa batter carefully on tava. Sprinkle some oil..
- Once dosa becomes golden brown flip the dosa and cook for 2 minutes..
- Finally serve the hot ragi dosa with coconut chutney or mint chutney..
This one here is a healthy alternative to the usual Dosas with a combination of two flours, specially curated for diabetics by Ms. Priyam Naik, Officer Dietetics, Saifee Hospital With a low glycemic index, it helps in controlling blood sugar levels. Apart from being gluten free, ragi dosa contains good. The ragi dosa that I am posting today is similar to the Rava dosa I have posted earlier. The only difference is the inclusion of ragi flour to the basic rava dosa recipe.
